Squeezing your mates in the standing sections lower tier
I noticed it's getting more common for people to squeeze mates in the bottom standing sections when they presumably bought tickets elsewhere. Lots do it around where I am and sometimes ask if I mind. I have no problem with people doing it as I think it makes it feel more like the old terraces.

What's the general consensus though?

I try not to touch my mates.

No issue with it whatsoever. It will help improve the atmosphere if anything.

They are the same species as the pond life who run onto the pitch. Pissed up entitled cunts who think they can do what they like because the world revolves around them. That they think their gormless fuckwhittery amounts to atmosphere says it all.

Next question.

😳

Is that a euphemism?

There were a few fights in the stands last night. Wouldn't mind betting some of them were as a result of this with people getting the hump about finding some other cunt(s) plotting up by their seats and refusing to move.

We had a group further down the row I sit in try it, when asked why they didn't go to their own seats their response was "Someone else is already sitting in them" as if that entitled them to go sit and wherever they felt like.

Only really see it on the European nights, not in the league so much.

This also happens at away matches and the cheeky so and so’s try to squeeze out the bona fide ticket holders. They also bung up the aisles. Great fun until there is an emergency of some sort.

Re: Squeezing your mates in the standing sections lower tier
There seem to be two broad groups doing this, one is bringing a mate or two down into a livelier area so they can stand and sing without annoying the more sedate fans, which I don't have a problem with. The ones who buy the cheapest tickets in the stadium to save a few quid and then bowl down to find a better vantage point are taking the piss a bit I think.

I like my own space so find it fucking annoying

I don’t mind it at all. I like the crowding and boisterousness as used to prefer terraces.

Liked it less at an Anthony Joshua fight couple of years back when I found 4 gypsies sitting in my seats and when I asked them to move was told very clearly to ‘fuck off and find another seat’ :)

Didn’t standing get banned due to uncontrollable numbers in terraces leading to tragedy?

Perhaps there is a reason they have an allocated seat?

Re: Squeezing your mates in the standing sections lower tier
I personally don't have a problem with it, Thursday night was the first time it happened to me. I sit with my 10 year old boy and dad behind the goal in the BML so when I arrived at my seat there was four young blokes in the two seats next to me who were standing in front of my seat and three Infront of them in one seat. As long as I'm not being stood in front of and my son has a view of the pitch it don't bother me.

What's happening to this safe standing section ?

Re: Squeezing your mates in the standing sections lower tier
Happens a lot where i am in the bml and have no problem at all with it , everyone stands all game and no steward ever asks anyone to sit down.
They stopped it for a while by checking tkts as you went through to your section but soon gave up

RoyalDocks they have the safe standing barriers at Tottenham and it always seems a bit strange, although as you know away from home no-one ever sits and most areas are overloaded.

The title to this thread could have been put up on a Brighton forum and mean something completely different.

if the club don't like it they should build a proper football ground where you don't need the same tech they use for discovering exo planets in the upper tier just to make out what's going on.
